Venus and Jupiter pair up in the night sky

The most spectacular celestial sight was witnessed today as Jupiter and Venus, the two brightest planets, draw closer together. Venus, Jupiter and a sliver of a crescent moon formed a spectacular, tight triangle in the early evening sky, near the horizon.
