2019- The year that passed so quickly

Back again with one more. Hope everyone has had a great 2019. Many of you have reached your target, achieved milestones, shed sweat and put in hard work to meet your destiny. Congratulations to all who made the cut and to all who put their efforts to make things happen.

Firstly, Wishing you and your family a great 2020 ahead. Keep winning and do continue great things to achieve greatness.

Personally, for me 2019 was a year of awakening. Travels, job changes, fighting for deserving things, venturing to new places, cutting down on unwanted things, focusing on getting better, meeting some amazing human beings and of course lost few things in due course.

As the year sets, would be moving to a new decade with target of what must be achieved and ensure that learning, contributing to great causes and become a person who would be identified for a right way.

Looking back the year, here are some things which went well, bad and also on what needs shakeout,

Special moments:

  • Firstly, met some amazing humans who had great stories of their lives to tell. They came from all walks of life. Some had overcome disability, some losses in their lives, some are contributing to the community to make a difference. Everyone is a hero in their own way. Interacting and knowing them has helped me to impart good things in my daily life.
  • Made greater bonds with my running friends. Tuesday’s and Thursdays are now on my calendar as running days. Running, meeting, learning and helping to achieve goals is what happens now. To my surprise, I can talk to many runners on the way during my run. Identity created 😊. Everyone welcomes irrespective of your status, color and class. Being amongst the running community was so special in 2019. Hope this continues without any break.
  • Meeting superstars of Athletics, Courtesy Sarge, Wolffie and Kizz. These 3 gentlemen helped me to get up-close with the hot cakes of Australian athletics. I had an opportunity to interact closely with them and build a connection.
  • Social nights on Tuesday with Gidders, this is a time to connect with Avos who come from all background. Chit chat over chips, drinks and Parma was not to be missed any week. They also turned up to cheer me at races 😊. That’s even more special.
  • Beating all odds to stand on the start line to crack PB in 10Km at master’s championships was so special. Place was already known before the start. The way athletes are encouraged in India made me feel sick. They tried to push you down, request for help went down drains.  But, decided to fight and with the help of local organizer, I pushed my entry through and made it to start line. Happy to beat the Sick bastards who rule the roost.
  • Fight for what I deserve and win back 😊. This was a norm all round the year. Be it a small defective gadget, equipment or my wages, I did stand a firm foot and decided to go in right path to get back what I was entitled to. Some were too kind, some were too harsh, some were supportive. As on 31-12-2019, I got back everything which I deserved. This taught me that if I am correct, I would get back what I deserve.
  • Learning new things at athletics or work, it was always welcome. This not only helped me to be good at things but gave confidence to others that I can deliver things in crunch situations. Whatever was thrown at me, I took it and ensured that it was completed with care and mistake free.
  • Appreciation for good things and being open was so special here that it feels that you are one amongst them.

What was lost:
  • Few close friends left and some of them stopped being in contact post the blog post was out. That was indeed a shame that instead of supporting and encouraging many wanted to distance away which showed their nature and ability to be a right person at right time. This not only helped me to clear the weeds but take life in a right perspective.

What needs to be improved:
  • Definitely; shyness; I still fear to interact with people at social events with the fear of being not entertained. With more and more meetings in 2019, there is a bit of confidence that I can interact and be confident of things
  • Running long distances: with 2021 being the year of making my 42 Km debut, 2020 would be a year of setting base for long long runs. Make time and be diligent and honest with training and engage with team to achieve the goals. Prevent injuries, run smarter and make every run count.
  • Being humble and simple: Never take anything for granted, respect everyone. 2019, showed me that simplicity is the key for success. People who are showoff’s are just ignored and they don’t deserve an inch of respect. Take a small step every time to reach success and thank the one’s who made it possible.

Acknowledging everyone who made this year a great one, sharing my favorite moments of this year and some mesmerizing photos captured by great photographers which made the special moments even special.

To all my friends, contacts who always support in all good things I do and achieve, a big heartfelt thank you. Without you; the successes and improvements happen. Looking forward for the same continuous support in coming days to make good things happen.
